I like to search out independent bookstores when I travel. I stumbled upon Andover Bookstore today and it is a gem! There is a good selection of books and my daughter and I had a nice chat with the owner. I only wished I lived closer so I could visit more often!

The new location is smaller, but they still have a fire place with cozy seating if you want to take a book for a spin before you commit to it. The selection of books is well curated, I went home with far too many of them. If you're looking for a gift featuring Andover, they have books, prints and stoneware.

I forever love this bookstore and not just because (full disclosure) they sell my books. Sarah and Caroline and the whole team are so sweet and knowledgeable. I brought some coworkers there yesterday because they wanted to see the oldest continually owned bookstore, and they were thrilled -- Sarah and Caroline both gave solid recommendations and had a lively conversation with us.

Having lived in communities without a single bookstore, I'm beyond pleased to have a number of indie book sellers within walking distance. Andover Bookstore has a lot to love in a relatively small space. They also carry beautiful greeting cards featuring images of our town, so head there now, stock up, and send your friends and family a handwritten note instead of an AI generated email. Be sure to follow them for special events too.

I adore the Andover Bookstore! My first visit was attending their Valentine's Day event last year and it was a great way to meet the staff. Some amazing people help maintain this bookstore and while I've only visited their current location, I find it to be the perfect size for browsing.
